Austrians hold up Turks for 2nd time

Austria has managed to stop the Turks from entering Europe twice: The first time at the gates of Vienna in 1683, and the second time at the gates of Luxembourg on Oct. 3, 2005.

...but by accepting Turkey into Europe, doesn't Europe then take a giant step towards changing its very identity - perhaps forever? It may, in fact, be inevitable that Europe will become "Eurabia" by century's end, but although Turkey is certainly not Arab, it is Muslim - and so will be Europe if present trends continue. But its indigenous population doesn't seem quite ready to face (or encourage) that eventuality just yet. A bridge connects two entities...it is not itself either one.
