...but by accepting Turkey into Europe, doesn't Europe then take a giant step towards changing its very identity - perhaps forever? It may, in fact, be inevitable that Europe will become "Eurabia" by century's end, but although Turkey is certainly not Arab, it is Muslim - and so will be Europe if present trends continue. But its indigenous population doesn't seem quite ready to face (or encourage) that eventuality just yet. A bridge connects two entities...it is not itself either one.
